Saturday morning garage sales

Miniature garage sale
This morning I went garage saleing
Miniature garage sale
but soon noticed there was something odd going on
Miniature Second Hand Wedding props
and realised I'd stumbled across the filming of the movie
Second Hand Wedding.

(They don't call it Wellywood for nothing...)

I was lucky enough to be given a full behind the scenes tour and have loaded the photos to FLICKR.

(Thanks to The Lower Hutt Miniature Makers for letting me leak their club project for the 2010 NZAME Convention which happens next weekend in Auckland)

  2. completely off topic: I wondered if you were keeping up with the Genius of Design series on ABC iview while you were away. I was excited at the hint of a futuro house this week, but it was just someone walking around a derelict one somewhere in the US.
I am enjoying your tour of things Welly.

  3. Oh so exciting, a second hand wedding - I'd never have thought! We went garage saling yesterday too. R found me a craft only garage sale. We may have made some capital investments in daylight lamps and tailors hams. I was, for that environment, particularly restrained an only went back once during the day after our initial visit. Woman selling for her mother with dementia. We were both in tears and decided that she needed to keep the thimbles and a large selection of buttons to take to her mother.

  4. How cool, you had me fooled until the 3rd pic. So I looked at the trailer and it looks like a really good movie. Have you seen it? Do you know if it was released in Oz? I know, I'll google it (you are definately rubbing off on me) PS. Was lovely to chat to you last night.

  5. Yes, I saw it last night. After leaving minis I headed straight across the road to plunder The Parental DVD collection as I figured they'd have it...

No idea if it was released in Oz, but I'll be keeping an eye out for a copy for myself.

  6. It was released in Oz but the (recent and 2 years late)season was so short you'd miss it if you blinked. I blinked -but got to see it just a month ago when it returned to the Astor Theatre. I was JUST thinking how familiar those first two garages looked....
