Over the hill and (not) far away

We spent the day in the Wairarapa yesterday, doing our best to support the local economy.

I almost bought a pear to add to my collection but it was a little expensive ($200!) and rather big and fragile to wrestle back on the plane. So I just took a photo instead:Then we visited Waiohine Gorge and the longest suspension bridge in the Southern Hemisphere

which was a bit scary

but worth it for the view:
