1. Dollars. The amount that the new IKEA FLISAT dolls' house costs. Which my friend took great delight in buying as a gift for me.
And that I put together this afternoon.
2. The age I turned today (for the second time: I decided last year that 49 wasn't a number I liked very much so went straight to 50).
Of course, I had to throw up a birthday scene in my new house before I decide if I need to paint the walls and floors to better fit with my décor...
Happy happy happy birthday!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! Fortunately that looks like a real chocolate cake in there. Any chance there's also some real champagne somewhere?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI think that top left room is calling for a loft space. I love the house. Oh, IKEA you know how to keep us coming back for more then meatballs
Happy Birthday xx
ReplyDeleteWhat scale is the house? The DH furniture that Ikea sell is Barbie sized, is that what th house is too?
Joyeux anniversaire from Catherine
ReplyDeleteThank you, lovelies. I had a great day, particularly compared to last year.
ReplyDeleteShannon: The chocolate cake was a chocolate from a box a friend bought for me from Max Brenner: I ate it soon after I took the photo! And there is liquid in the bottle but I wasn't keen to find out what it was. No champagne in real life either: I settled for three bottles of Yellow for $21 instead.
Kitty and Kat: I was thinking that too: but first I have to decide if I'm going to stain the wood bits, or paint them to cover the (very over scale) wood grain and knots...
elbey: I saw photos of the house with the(1:1.76 scale)in it, and it looked crowded. Which made me think the house could work in 1/12 scale with some creativity. If all else fails, I figured I could use it as a display on my stall...
If you are interested, a few weeks ago I finally got my Ikea dollhouse, cut some additional openings, made some "modern steps" (Popsicle sticks really. I decided not to paint or light, and I am going to use it as a display shelf of revolving miniatures

I absolutely love the quirkiness of your blog and now I very much yearn for a doll house as beautiful as yours...even better, with miniature cakes to nibble on! I'm so glad I stumbled across your blog. Much love from England xx
