This fresh green corner, however was a quick build in April 2012.
In June that year I finally tracked down and bought a Brio bungalow, one of my 'holy grail houses',
I decorated it as an 'original' holiday house near the ski fields.
rather than in chilly and grey Canberra.
A year later, in December 2013, my thoughts turned to holidaying at the coast once again (which is a bit odd as I hate the beach in summer)
...and I ended up building a rather large scene over four days,
starting from two pieces of scrapbook paper which turned into the kitchen lino and the feature wall paper
in what became known as The Seaside Shack (and which I ended up recreating for an exhibition at Goulburn Regional Art Gallery two years later!)
It was over a year before a holiday house scene popped up again, in January 2015.
And it was a basic one indeed, inspired by a picture of some random blue tiles I pulled out of a magazine. The blue theme continued in June that year, with another holiday house near the ski fields
(although it looks like the person staying there has other things on their mind than skiing!)
The following month I created another (quite different) ski lodge scene...
and kept the colour theme going for yet another month as I made some scenes as part of my entry into the ProBlogger/ Virgin Australia Top Travel Tips competition (hotels are sort of holiday houses, aren't they?)
I'm still quite chuffed that I managed to show each of my travel tips in a miniature setting, but also that each room is themed around a major city somewhere in the world.
And I do believe that's it.
Apart from Margell Public School, of course.
Who could forget Margell?
And THAT party?
(*New Zealand word for small holiday homes)
Love the trip down memory lane. :D It's always fun to look back and see what we did way back. It always gets me inspired to do new things.
