Testing, testing, testing...

A large carton of vintage German furniture I bought off eBay arrived yesterday morning.

My friend Kaet has been telling me I should start vlogging.

And Rebecca was keen to (virtually) share the opening of the carton.

And so I bring you TSS vlog test #1: Vintage German furniture unboxing:

(I didn't expect it to be so long. Perhaps I should rename it 'The Shopping Sherpa's Miniature Home'?)

To my distant eye, those 8 green squares on the clear table look like the remains of double sided tape. Is that in keeping with the 70s. I honestly can't remember that long ago...

I agree: but what were they holding down?

um, 2 light bulbs and some buttons obviously.

ok. that was just silly. delete light bulbs, and add .. what other little odd bits were there?

Damn! Where's the 'like' button when you need it?

Great video! I love to unpack big boxes with dollhouse furniture, it's always surprising and funny. Sometimes it can be dissapointing, but I guess THIS one was quite good one. The double sided tape on the table could be for keeping dishes on it, maybe? I often found tape stains on modella (or other plastic) furniture that fixed plates or glasses. The big food boxes are not dollhouse sized because they're made for kid's shops, wooden stalls in small kids size - i used to have one when I was a kid, too.
Greetings from Germany, Lilli

Thank you, that was a lot of fun! Did that box say Crailsheimer? I couldn't quite see. Diepuppenstubensammlerin is on holidays at the moment, but I expect she'll be able to identify a lot when she gets back.

Thanks for inviting us to the opening ! I feel as if I just got a parcel too... You have a few unmarked Crailsheimer's pieces that came from the orange Crailsheimer box you got - Would it be possible to see a close-up of the label on the side of the box if I saw well as you were turning it around and placing it off screen please ? (I think the mustard cardboard insert with the elastic band held the pieces originally...).
Die Puppenstubensammlerin and I are opening our Crailsheimer blog on the 5th of September... so relatively soon...

What a fabulous lot of vintage furniture. I especially like the ones with the striped wood. Great find and thanks for sharing your vlog!

Great, a wonderful idea to make a film of that exciting moment of unpacking an eBay parcel, and I could refresh my English and noted down the words you used for each piece.
So, you have a 60s Paul Hübsch kitchen (the clock belongs to this set), a Wichtelmarke bedroom with the unusual dresser, a Modella bathroom, a Modella livingroom with TV and telephone and the plastic jug, cups and saucer sets and plates were fixed once on the coffee table, the record player transparent cover lid can be opened though, the kids could even change the records...the red-white plastic chair is part of this set, too. The rubber dolls are Ari dolls, but not the last one, that is a Schleich boy. The flexible dolls are Erna Meyer ones.
Ysé already wrote you what was originally in the Crailsheimer box: the shelving unit and the matching table (which is actually a desk) as well as perhaps the two chairs without legs. The orange fluffy chair is a 60s Bodo Hennig piece. The white little chairs belong to the Hübsch kitchen, the cute table with the chequered top belongs into the Crailsheimer box, just as the gorgeous plastic picture of the last scene.
I hope you will get your house with a later package...

I found the Modella room - I think your set is complete - you just need to draw the background...
