Today's posts brought to you by the letters P and C and the number 6

Let's play a little game shall we?

I spy with my little eye something beginning with C...
  • Comfortable Couch maybe?
  • Coffee plunger?
  • Cup and saucer?
  • Cool Cushions?
  • Cake stand?

or could it possibly, just maybe, perhaps stand for

(To quote a favourite movie: inconceivable!)

Go to supermarket. Scan shelves for cupcake mix. Buy the only sort available. Go home. Remove the Thomas The Tank Engine decals. Stare at the tiny doll-sized very colourful cupcake patty pans before throwing them out too. Make cupcakes as per directions, using double the mixture in each normal sized patty pan. Test one before putting the rest aside to take to work. Vow that you will make them from scratch mext time.

Hey - I was BUSY today and based on past experience was convinced some other disaster would happen before the cupcakes actually made it to the realms of reality.

I promise next time I'll use the Magnolia Bakery recipe (

Nummy! Pls add one scrumptious cupcake to box....! Also, here is a skookum good pizza crust recipe - all goes in one big plastic mix it, knead it, and let it rise - all in one bowl. We have it once a week. 1 cup unbleached flour, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, some basil, oregano(go easy), and parsley(to taste). Stir that all up and then add 1 cup warm water and 1 tablespoon olive oil..mix well, then add one more cup of unbleached flour and mix til dough ball starts to form, then knead, adding flour as necessary to keep from sticking. Knead for 5 to 10 minutes, all in the bowl..there is a method of pressing down, scooping up against side of bowl to flip over, and rotating bowl with other hand, all at the same time....keep kneading and adding pinches of flour until a smooth dough is achieved. Then lift out dough ball with one hand, while adding some olive oil in bottom of bowl, then replace dough, roll it around to coat it with oil (so it doesn't stick to bowl as it rises). Now find a warm spot (I use the top of my toaster oven with a cookie rack under the bowl...because the house is so bloody COLD), cover with tea towel and let rise for 30 to 60 minutes. Then dump it with a big "Thwack!" onto an (olive) oiled pizza pan, roll out to shape, then cover with tomato sauce of your choice, and other ingredients, as you prefer. Bake at 400 degrees F until golden brown...about 20 minutes. Enjoy!

Much easier pizza base recipe:

1. Open freezer
2. Remove tag from top of pizza base bag
3. Remove pizza base from bag
4. Replace tag
5. Close freezer door.
