The table was set with a crisp white cotton table cloth, my favorite "best" Johnson Brothers crockery, the monogrammed cutlery I gave myself for Christmas and my very ancient much loved damask napkins.
We toasted the new year with hibiscus flowers in champagne,
ate too much wonderful food then lay around reading magazines (catching a quick 40 winks) until we had the strength to move again. All in all, a perfect start to the year!

And excellent work on the Maxwell Williams affair. That cherry blossom pattern may be something you might want to keep your eye out for, too. It's very TSS.
