Still as busy as a bee.

Even busier than most bees, I'd think!
Publicity for which show? Call of the Small?

For The Collectors: they're wondering if I'd be interested in doing some TV and newspaper interviews and photo calls. I haven't even started thinking about CotS publicity yet, apart from collate a list of miniature magazines and addresses...

I've also just had an email from German TV looking for information on Modern Miniaturists in Europe for a piece they want to do...

How interesting. They decided not to have you in the studio, and then they're wondering if you're interested in publicity? I wonder if that's got anything to do with the NYT article making modern miniatures more newsworthy?

I doubt it: when Justin arrived it was clear he hadn't read any of the posts I'd sent links to before they came. I guess they're not used to dealing with a subject with such an on line presence.

Justin is in Tasmania and the person who called me is in Brisbane. She seemed very impressed with the links I sent her so we'll see what happens...

Damned shame they decided to read my links after they filmed: one of the reasons I'm not looking forward to seeing what they came up with on the subject for the show ;-)

Oh: and I did tell her they'd chosen perhaps the worst day of the year to show the segment as most miniaturists will be either travelling to Sydney for the show or setting up at the show that night...

Interesting. It's a real pity they didn't send Adrian - I don't know how many home collections he does, but it's exactly his period.

Probably they'll just show you talking about the collection, and the collection itself, and say a couple of sentences in the studio. They only really say more when one of the team goes out and films, or when the collector is live in the studio - but I haven't been really impressed with some of the live ones this year, they seem to have changed the format a bit, and sometimes have someone who brings a few pieces in and talks about them without having their whole collection filmed.

Anyway, at least dolls houses that are not reproductions made for collectors will get a national showing - and if that Brisbane person does do some publicity, some more info might get out too.

Sorry today's been so awful - hope the rest of your week goes much better :-)
