Tuesday tasks

On the To Do list today: grocery shopping, finishing the paid project I started working on last week, and starting the brooch commissions I received at the ANCA sPIN exhibition opening.
A magnetic gluing jig, box of wooden alphabet tiles, glue, toothpicks, kit pieces, instructions and reading glases laid out on a dining table.
Tick, Tick, Tick.

I'm doing well.

Popped in, sold out!

I arrived at tonight's opening of ANCA's sPIN exhibition two minutes after it officially started.
Open sign on the door to the sPIN exhibition at ANCA gallery.
And one of the first people I saw was the Gallery Manager, who was clutching a roll of red dots. 'You've almost sold out!' she said as she saw me.
Five miniature brooches on display in a gallery, with four red dots underneath them.
 Blimey!

I'd worn my lucky red spot brooch, bought from an earlier version of the show, which obviously worked.

Because, within another two minutes this lovely woman bought the last brooch.

Yep, completely sold out in six minutes,

(It almost made up for the fact that my name was misspelled on the catalogue...)

'I finished it off!' Friday

These were actually finished late yesterday afternoon:
Row of brooches, showing the backs with pins just glued on, next to two bottles of glue.
Yes, miracles happened and the brooches for the ANCA sPIN exhibition are done!

Perhaps yesterday's to do list helped?
To do list for Thursday 18 June 2015 saying 'Finish the bloody brooches!' in large capital letters. It is crossed out and next to it is drawn a smiley face.
I'm not sure if I can show them all to you just yet, but here's a sneaky peek of one of them:
Modern dolls' house miniature scene of a side table with lamp, coffee pot and mug. On the wall above it is a box frame with the letter K, a ball of wool and two knitting needles.
Modern dolls' house miniature lounge scene of a sofa and side table. On the sofa is some knitting and on the side table is a lamp, coffee pot and mug. On the wall above it is a box frame with the letter K, a ball of wool and two knitting needles.
(I figured I should make things that I would want to keep if they didn't sell...)

5PINning around*

On Monday, after the crappest birthday ever, I bit the bullet and quit my job.

On Tuesday, I realised that entries for the ANCA Gallery 5PIN exhibition closed tonight, and that maybe I have the head space and time to put something together for it after all.
Packet of 1/12th scale dolls house miniature crate kits on top of an application form for the sPIN exhibition.
Today I'm hoping that they'll accept a proposal outline rather than a finished piece in the application.

Wish me luck!
