On Tuesday I took tea (Day 26)

It's been freezing cold* and raining the whole day. (*Thanks to Seepi for telling me we hit a high of 4 degrees)

There were bright spots, though:

* I got to splash across to the post office in my spotty gumboots this morning.
* I got an email from Knit1 Blog1 saying my application to be part of Craft ACT's exhibition next month of work by (oddly enough) knitters who blog "is excellent - 10 outta 10 for that"
* Taph invited me to the opening of the Lost Houses of the Molonglo Valley exhibition at CMAG this Friday night.
* And tonight's Stitch 'n' Bitch night.

Today's menu:

Breakfast: Tea. Mushroom, broccoli, semi-dried tomato and parmesan frittata

Morning tea: Apple, slice of cheese

Lunch: Cream of Lentil soup from the freezer with toast

Afternoon tea: Hot chocolate and a ginger muffin

Dinner: I'll be scarfing down half a Muttar Paneer Indian ready meal with rice from the freezer.

Total spent since June 1: $145.46

Days to go: 4

Four degrees all day today - the high of seven was at 8.00 this morning.

4 degrees! Time to start experimenting with newsprint layers between clothes. At least the tones will be acceptable.

Well I must say that a trip to Damart is becoming more and more enticing although I fear it is a rite of passage into middle age when you realise your mother was right about wearing singlets :-/

Noooo, not Damart! Try the outdoors store starting with K for thermals instead...resist middle age! (coincidentaly on sale right now too)

Even though it was 4 degrees on the thermometer, "apparent temperature" was below zero almost all day. No wonder we shivered here in the nation's capital!

I rediscovered singlets my first year in Sydney. Odd, but true. The place isn't built for cold, there were no heaters in anything, including the University, and there's a myth of perpetual summer that the locals insist on believing. Had to send home to my Nan for a couple of singlets. Loves me chesty bonds now!
